This holiday season definitely looked different and felt different. I’m learning that the best way to navigate stressful situations and stressors in general is to plan your self-care.

No matter what’s going on around you if you plan and prep it’s easier to control the balance within you. One of my favorite ways to decompress is by lighting candles. I’m learning more and more to create self-care moments every day, every week and every month.

I feel like the day-to-day is too overwhelming to put off having a self-care moment wherever whenever and however. One thing about candles you can create those moments instantly. It’s a known fact that aromatherapy helps relieve stress. Certain scents have different effects.

One of my favorite scents from Escape Haven and Co is Vanilla Melt. Whenever I smell it I feel an instant release in my body. The scent of vanilla, uplifts my mood.  It’s also known to increase the feeling of joy and happiness. It's even said to stimulate the feeling of relaxation. I can attest to that, from personal use.

So, it’s a given the Vanilla Melt scent would be one of my favorites from Escape Haven Co. Now, I have to say since getting my hands on Autumn Winds, Vanilla Melt has competition. Either of these scents would be great to add to your candle collection. Their handmade candles are perfect for creating those self care moments we need.

Light your candle when you're taking a bath, when your meditating, when you’re sipping tea or even when you're journaling or writing in your planner. Find any and every reason to spoil yourself and create the moments you need to keep yourself in a good mental space. I hope with the New Year rolling in you increase your self care.

Tell me some other things you light your candles and do in the comments.

Until next time, check out Escape Haven and Co at www.escapehavenandco.com and create your little moments of escape at home.
